Two Chinese doctors namely Dr. Hu Weifeng and Dr. Yi Fan were tested positive to Coronavirus early this year.

The two Doctors who are both 42 years old contacted the COVID 19 virus from a patient they were treating at the Wuhan Central hospital in China.

According to their Doctors who told Chinese State Media, CCTV, their skin color which turned black shortly after surviving the Virus is a result of hormonal imbalance due to the fact that their Livers were damaged by the Virus.

Dr. Yi who spoke to CCTV from his hospital bed said that the struggle in battling the deadly disease had traumatized him to a certain degree. He told reporters:

"When I first gained consciousness, especially after I got to know my condition, I felt scared. I had nightmares often". He said he was trying to overcome the psychological hurdle.

Dr. Hu, on the other hand, underwent ECMO therapy and has regained his ability to speak. ECMO is a drastic life support procedure that replaces the function of the heart and lungs, by pumping oxygen into the blood outside the body. He has since been taken to the intensive care unit and he is being looked after in the same hospital as Dr. Yi.

However, Dr. Li, a specialist treating the two Doctors suspect that the reason why the two doctors skin turned dark may be due to a type of medicine they had received at the beginning of their treatment, adding that one of the side effects of the drugs is darkening of skin color, withholding the name of the drugs.

However, it is expected that both Doctor's skin color will return back to normal after the function of their Liver improves.

Dr. Yi and Dr. Hu are colleagues with the late Li Wenliang, a doctor who was punished for first alerting and sounding the alarm of the virus earlier. He later died of the disease on February 7.
