The Police Public Relations Officer of the Akwa Ibom State Command, DSP Timfon John, will Saturday, May 2, 2026, commit her late mother, Mrs. Nkoyo Ita John Ikot, to mother earth following a three-day funeral programme in Esit Eket Local Government Area.
Mrs. Nkoyo Ita John Ikot, who died at the age of 61, is described by family members and close associates as a devoted mother and respected community figure whose passing has attracted an outpouring of condolences.
According to the burial arrangements released by the family, activities will begin, Thursday, April 30, with the opening of the mourning house and a gospel night at Lutheran Primary School, 59 James House, Uquio Etebi Road, Ebighi Assang, in Esit Eket.
The programme will continue Friday, May 1, with a friends’ night at the deceased’s compound, ahead of the final funeral rites on Saturday at Holy Cross Lutheran Primary School, Uquqo, also in Esit Eket.
The funeral service is scheduled to commence at 10:00 a.m. prompt and will be officiated by the Christian Fellowship Evangelical Church of Nigeria, Uqquo Zone.
Family sources say the late matriarch lived a life marked by service, humility and commitment to her community, leaving behind a legacy cherished by those who knew her.
