Stakeholders in Uruan and Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Areas have reaffirmed their commitment to deliver overwhelming support for President Bola Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Governor Umo Eno in the 2027 general elections, following the inauguration of Chapter Executives and Advisory Councils of the Arise with Renewed Hope Initiative in both Areas.
In Uruan, the Chapter Executive, inaugurated by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Waterways, Capt. Koko Essien, has Surv. Iniobong Ekpenyong as Coordinator and Mrs. Alice Okon as Deputy Coordinator.
Other members of the Executive include Uduak Udoenang (Secretary), Helen Umoh (Women Leader), Ededet Nyong, Ifiokobong Asuquo, Jude Bassey, Solomon Essien, Patrick Inyang, Ekom Imaha, Ekaette Sylvester Asuquo, Torobong, Ukeme Ikpito, Benedict Effiong, Mary Nkanta, Grace Edem, Cosmos Ekpenyong, Augustine Edet, Emmanuel Etim, Etima Usanga, Nsisong Okon, Mfon Nyong, Abasiama Patrick and Veronica Effiong, with Victoria Patrick, Sweetie Philip, Iniobong Effiong, Angela Moses Effiong and others, serving as ex-officio members.
The Advisory Council, inaugurated by the Member representing Nsit Ibom State Constituency, Mr. Eric Akpan, is chaired by the Executive Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Okon Okon.
The inauguration ceremonies, held at the respective Local Government Headquarters, drew political leaders, stakeholders and party faithful, further strengthening grassroots mobilisation across Akwa Ibom State ahead of the next election cycle.
Speaking at the events, the President General of the Initiative, Engr. Uwem Okoko, said the group was established to propagate the achievements of the President, particularly his role in strengthening Nigeria’s democracy and supporting the emergence of an Akwa Ibom indigene as President of the 10th Senate.
He reaffirmed the collective resolve of stakeholders across the two local government areas to support the re-election of the President, the Senate President and the Governor, describing the Initiative as a platform for consolidating grassroots support and political unity.
The President General also announced the appointment of Sen. Aniekan Bassey, Lady Usoro Akpabio and Ntukideh into the State Elders Advisory Council.
The International Coordinator, Sir Udo Kierian who referenced similar groups in the past, said the Initiative is and will remain the vehicle for driving the reelection message of the trio.
In his welcome and acceptance remarks, the LG Chairman who now doubles as Coordinator of the Chapter, Surv. Iniobong Ekpenyong, assured that Uruan would be at the forefront of delivering votes for the APC and all its candidates in 2027.
Goodwill messages from Capt. Koko Essien; the Member representing Uruan State Constituency, Dr. Itorobong Etim; the Managing Director/CEO of the South South Development Commission, Lady Usoro Akpabio; and representatives of Sen. Aniekan Bassey, assured that Uruan would deliver one of the highest vote counts in the State.
At Ibesikpo Asutan, the LG Chairman, Mr. Edidiong Inyang was inaugurated as Chapter Coordinator alongside other members of the Executive by Mr. Aniekpeno Mkpanang, while the Advisory Council, chaired by the Commissioner for Economic Development, Mr. Nsikan Linus, was inaugurated by a member of the International Initiative's Executive, Idongesit Etiebet.
The President General further announced the appointment of Chief T. O. Akpan and Obonganwan Geraldine Etuk into the State Advisory Council, as well as Sergeant David into the International Executive of the Initiative A Director of Performing Artistes.
Stakeholders at the event, including the Honourary Special Adviser to the Governor, Mr. Aniekan Uko; Engr. Ita Udosen; Obong T. O. Akpan; Mr. Emmanuel Obot; the Commissioner for Economic Development, Mr. Nsikan Linus; the Member representing Ibesikpo Asutan State Constituency, Mr. Ubong Attah; and the Clan Head of Ibesikpo, Etebom Nsidibe Etuk, in their goodwill messages, expressed appreciation for the inclusion of the Area in key government appointments and pledged total support for the administration and the APC.
They also reaffirmed their backing for the return of the Senate President in 2027, noting that the people of Ibesikpo Asutan remain united in their support for the trio.
