Celebration in Esit Eket, Etinan as Gov Eno receives electrifying welcome at APC women sensitisation meetings

Governor Umo Eno, on Friday, received an electrifying reception from a large crowd of All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters in the Esit Eket and Etinan local government areas as the Women Sensitization Tour on Civic Responsibilities continues throughout the state.


In Uquo, the headquarters of Esit Eket LGA, the governor, represented by his Deputy, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, received a warm welcome from the moment the entourage arrived at the entrance of the council secretariat and continued to the council hall, the venue of the meeting where, in addition to the large gathering inside, a significant crowd had gathered outside several hours earlier in the morning, eagerly anticipating the governor's arrival.


Addressing women and stakeholders at the event, Senator Eyakenyi Eyakenyi rallied support for the re-election of President Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and emphasised the governor's message for women in all the wards of Esit Eket LGA to update their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), National Identification Numbers (NIN), and APC e-registration.


The deputy governor announced that the Governor Umo Eno administration has completed at least one major development project in every local government area of the state, covering education, healthcare, and road infrastructure, assuring that Esit Eket would not be left behind in the government's development efforts.


She emphasised the importance of women embracing cooperative societies, describing them as a deliberate government strategy to boost entrepreneurship, expand access to opportunities, and strengthen economic empowerment throughout the state.

In her welcome address, the Chairman of Esit Eket Local Government Area, Hon. Uduak Ikott, expressed appreciation to Governor Eno for the visible developmental strides in the area, particularly the commissioning of the Nigeria for Women Project (NFWP) oil palm processing sites in the local government.


Goodwill messages were delivered by the member representing Esit Eket/Ibeno state constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Udobia Udo; elder statesman Mkpisong Bassey Dan Abia; the Commissioner for Power Hon. Iniobong Robson; State APC Women Leader Obongawan Obonodo Udo; the APC Chapter Women Leader; the representative of federal lawmaker Rt. Hon. Okpolupm Ette; and the Delivery Advisor to the Governor, Dr. Ini Adiakpan, among others as they vowed to ensure mass mobilisation for the re-election bids of President Tinubu, Senator Akpabio, and Governor Eno. 


When the Deputy Governor's entourage arrived at the Etinan Local Government Secretariat, the atmosphere resembled a festival, filled with singing and dancing, as well as a strong show of support for President Bola Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Pastor Umo Eno's reelection bid in 2027.



Also speaking, the Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Mrs. Helen Eno Obareki, applauded the women of Etinan for their confidence in the Governor Umo Eno administration and solicited their continued support to ensure the full realisation of the ARISE Agenda.


In a show of unity and political resolve, both the women of Esit Eket and Etinan local government area commended Governor Eno for his people-centred governance and pledged to mobilise sustained support for his administration. 


The Etinan Council Chairman, Mr. Uko Umoh, noted that sustained development in the area would best be achieved by returning Governor Umo Eno for a second term in 2027, describing his administration as responsive and inclusive.

 

On his part, the National Assembly member, Obong Paul Ekpo, commended the state government for the sensitisation tour, describing women as critical grassroots mobilisers and expressing confidence in a resounding APC victory in future elections.


Others who spoke at the Etinan meeting included the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Uko Udom, SAN; the wife of the Senior Legislative Aide to the Senate President, Mrs. Patricia Aniefiok Dennis; state lawmaker Hon. Uduak Ekpo-Ufot; the Vice Chairman of Etinan Local Government, Imaobong Michael; aides of the Governor; and other stakeholders, all of whom provided financial support for the success of the civic engagement initiative.


Some of the other personalities who accompanied the Deputy Governor include Mrs. Ini-Louisa Ntokekpo, the wife of the APC State Chairman; Dr. Glory Edet, International Director of ARISE With Renewed Hope; and Mrs. Akaninyene Uwemedimo Udo, the President of WALGON, among others.
