Of recent, most people have critised the administration of President Buhari for boosting of spending 1 billion naira per-day on feeding School children around the country.
Opposition party like the People's Democratic party (PDP) have also said that the feeding claims is a huge scam, especially now that the world is hit with a serious pandemic..
So far, it was confirmed that 9.3 million pupils have benefited from President Buhari's feeding programme.
The feeding programme is never a scam, as I have witness myself before coming to Know that such a scheme was set up by president Buhari's adminstration.
I came to know about this when I was posted to a school in Buruku, a local government in Benue state for my NYSC. At first I notice that once it was lunch time, all the pupils in the school will all be fed, and then one day, I asked a teacher in that school if it is the handwork of the headmaster. He said No, that it is a progmme by the federal government meant to feed all pupils in primary schools.
I was surprised, how come I didn't know about this? Maybe where I came from there are not much of less privilege around.
The pupils are always very happy coming to school, having it in mind that they will be served with lunch ones it was lunch time. Parents no longer need to think about the welfare of their children in school anymore because the federal government has taken care of that. Am not talking about the Vulnerable parents, but the less privilege in the society...
No wonder Vice president Osinbajo said that "the aim of this government is to provide food for our students to make them focused in schools and solve the problems of malnutrition in our children".
The feeding programme has also created employment to Farmers for supplying materials. According to the Vice president, 767 cows are killed weekly and 7.3 million eggs are consumed weekly through this policy.
The Feeding agenda has never been a scam to extort money. The less privilege in the society are benefiting from it. President Buhari is working.
